L’Orée du Sabia

L'Orée du Sabia was created in 2017 by Bastien Mousset in Brem-sur-Mer. Since the beginning, he surrounds himself with a passionate team and cultivates his vineyard according to the principles of organic and biodynamic farming. Today, the domain grows 7 grape varieties on its 10 hectares of vines and has at heart to produce wines that fully express their oceanic terroir. Nestled between forests, ocean, salt marshes and protected natural areas, the plots of the domain are rich and varied. The soils are made of quartz, schist, schistose sandstone, rhyolite or granit.

Following its environmentally-friendly principles, the domain excludes any use of synthetic chemicals. The soils are mechanically tilled and grass grows freely every other row according to the needs of each plot. The vines are managed with precision by preferring manual labour to mechanical means whenever possible and by using only products of natural origin. All the wines are fermented with the indigenous yeasts naturally present on the grapes. The maturation period ranges from 6 months up to 30 months for the finest wines, in different containers: stainless steel tanks, concrete tanks and barrels of 228 and 400 liters. The domain produces 10 cuvées which, each in their own way, highlight the plots from which they come.
