Ribera Del Duero, Spain

Sei Solo

Sei Solo is the deeply personal project of Javier Zaccagnini, one of the most influential figures in modern Ribera del Duero. After shaping the region as director of its regulatory board and co-founding iconic estates such as Aalto, Zaccagnini set out in 2007 to create something far more intimate: a winery dedicated to his own vision of elegance in Tempranillo.

The name Sei Solo; inspired by the violin sonatas of Johann Sebastian Bach; captures the philosophy of the project: precision, purity, and a singular artistic voice.

Located in the village of La Horra, in the heart of Ribera del Duero, Sei Solo draws from a mosaic of old-vine Tempranillo parcels planted on clay, limestone, and sandy soils at elevations between 800 and 900 meters. These high-altitude vineyards allow for slow, balanced ripening, preserving freshness while building depth and complexity.

Production is intentionally limited (around 22,000 bottles annually) reflecting a meticulous, parcel-by-parcel approach. Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts in oak vats, followed by aging in a thoughtful combination of French oak barrels (new and used), ensuring that the expression of fruit and terroir remains at the forefront.

Today, the estate is led by Javier’s son, Michael Zaccagnini, ensuring continuity while bringing an international perspective shaped by experience in Burgundy, Bordeaux, and beyond.

Sei Solo stands apart in Ribera del Duero for its pursuit of precision over extraction, and elegance over weight; an interpretation of Tempranillo that is both deeply rooted in place and quietly revolutionary.
